My name is Alyssah. About 4 years ago I discovered an interest in jewelry designing. It started with me repairing pieces, turning single earrings into necklace pendants and vintage pins into rings. Upcycling vintage pieces sparked a kind of creativity my heart and mind adored. When I pick up something like an old locket, i wonder where it has been, who wore it, what i could make it into and who will wear it once i have recreated it. I have to feel a connection with each piece to work on it or I have no creative energy to put forth on the product and it will not be my best. As a result, I love my job and rarely find it to be work. I use 60%+ recycled materials and because of this most of my pieces are one of a kind. With the concept of green designing being my main guideline, the name came easily to me, Eco Chic Jewelry Designs. Over the years I have taken classes in metal work, clay sculpting, glass blowing and wire wrapping to help build my creativity beyond a hobby and into a business. I find inspiration in so many things but feel that nature and vintage pieces seem to bring me the most creative design ideas. Currently there are 32 boutiques, salons and resale locations that Eco Chic is found. Aside from those locations, my work can also be found in local benefits and fashion shows. I not only welcome but strongly encourage custom orders.
